Walking through the streets and squares of O Grove and admiring the sculptures on display is an option that every visitor should consider.
There are more than 100 works of art on permanent display, which increase in number with each edition of the International Open Air Sculpture Symposium, which takes place every two years during the Festa do Marisco.
This event brings together three sculptors of international origin to shape blocks of Galician granite. For around 24 days, coinciding with the Festa do Marisco, these artists sculpt their pieces on the Beiramar promenade in full view of passers-by.
Dating back to 1990, this symposium has produced an important collection of sculptures that serve to beautify the streets, promenades and corners of O Grove, thus increasing the municipality’s heritage.
