Manor of the Dukes of Patiño

Manor of the Dukes of Patiño

It is an urban manor located in the center of the town of Sanxenxo. It is said that on this site there was once a tower that, after successive modifications and arrangements, evolved into a beautiful landscaped mansion from the end of the 18th century. In the building built in a square shape, with ground floor and floor, three blocks are differentiated. The central body is made up of an open gallery or patio with a stone balustrade, lintel and covered, on which a simple staircase leads to access to the house, displaying a complex crowned coat of arms between the windows. The body on the right shows a porch with a balustrade on large corbels or canzorris that rest on the ground. Both blocks are oriented to the south and form a square with a third oriented to the east. This last block, which is the oldest, presents two arched portals currently bricked up and a heraldic shield crowned with arms of the Valladares, Aldao, Rivera, Zúñiga and Mariño. The work as a whole ends with graceful decorative elements with a pyramidal base or pinnacles, which ennoble the central patio formed by the main facades, the chapel and a stone wall with barred doors.
